“Everyone knows that when it comes to football simulation, Konami’s PES series is by far the most realistic title available,” said Torres.
“The new game looks absolutely stunning, and I look forward to seeing myself in action in PES 2010.”

Torres, who is known to be a keen game player, is following in the footsteps of stars such as Thierry Henry and John Terry.

“Fernando has established himself as one of the most exciting strikers in the game,” said Jon Murphy, PES European team leader.
“He encapsulates everything that is good about the modern game, showcasing both pace, skill and vision – three elements that play a major part in PES 2010 as a football simulation.”

The game is released on PLAYSTATION3, Xbox 360, PC-DVD, PSP, PlayStation 2 and mobile phones this autumn.

Consider me excited!!

American Hot Rods night was on today (there is a list of what’s on which night for those fancying something else) and there were plenty of muscle cars around, they came in many shapes and sizes and also sporting unique stunning paint jobs to match.

On our way there we saw a yellow Corvette speed past us and we knew it was going to be a good evening. Once we got there (minutes after the Corvette) we were surrounded buy some awesome cars, typical American music (Grease orientated) with a live band and the Cafe packed with enthusiasts – yes American Burgers and drinks were also on offer.

The most important subject was of course the cars themselves. Amongst them, Fords, Pontiacs, Chevrolets and even some Dodges – all with either immaculate paintwork, bodywork or pure horsepower – some even had the full Monty! The only negative from the night out was that my Nokia N95 died on me as it seems to be doing recently, only this time when I was on the verge of pictures of a seriously hot Gold Pontiac with an outrageous paint job and air brushed graphics on it! Well that’s life! I managed to take some pictures which you should be able to enjoy below.

Dust builds up over time in EVERY case, one would be surprised on how much, below is the pictures of how much dust builds up on an avergae tower over just a year. The sight is not pleasant, if you haven’t cleaned your tower for a year or longer I can only imagine how much dust is in there. I tend to keep mine cleaner than your average user by cleaning the front intake fan every 3 months or so.

The difference is noticeably staggering, the case has it’s old shine back and the chrome edges and brushed metal come through nicely with the summer sunshine. Cleaning your tower will also help keep the longevity and efficiency of your system as it will run cooler and be more stable.

Firstly, Production I.G. is behind it which should be obvious to animé fans that it will be high quality animation, they are renowned for great artwork and animation and have previously been responsible for titles such as Ghost in the Shell (one of their more well known pieces) but aren’t just limited to that. Sky Crawlers is a good example of the quality of animation they produce, it’s also a good animé Movie, albeit quite slow at times and more of a Top Gun with sedatives applied.

Higashi no Eden immediately comes across as a light animé but with a deeper side to it. Excerpt from Wikipeadia:

On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike against uninhabited areas of Japan, claiming no victims. This apparent terrorist act is referred to as “Careless Monday” and disregarded by most people. The series begins three months later, in the United States of America, a young Japanese woman named Saki Morimi is visiting Washington D.C. as part of her graduation trip. When she gets into trouble, a mysterious Japanese man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, helps her through it. The man appears to have no memory and is completely naked, carrying only a gun and a cell phone charged with 8.2 billion yen in digital money.^[1] The cell phone has the phrase, noblesse oblige (”nobility obligates” or “noble’s obligation” in English), printed on it. While they are coming back to Japan, they learn that a new missile attack has taken place in their country.

The character development, story progression and animation work great together, there is a constant flow of information provided to the viewer, funny scenarios and an inevitable potential love scenario developing. First time animé viewers might not enjoy this as much as more enthusiastic animé viewers but it’s definitely a good animé to start with, the potential of this is very good.

If you wish to start watching this animé, you’ll need your favourite bittorrent client (I personally use uTorrent) and keep your eyes on this Animesuki page, as it’s not licensed yet it will appear there, once it’s licensed Animesuki will remove it from their list, obviously you’ll have to search around for it yourself after that.

In the end we ended up giving the kite to a little kid who was out with his dad in the park. He seemed to enjoy it much more than we did.

That’s just one of the ideas showcased in the video which caught my eye as a practical use of technology which could be used in the near future. There are also many other ideas which look to awesome – some of which seem pretty familiar from recent Movie releases using advanced technology to show information and display data. It’s worthwhile checking out the video below to see what I’m trying to point out – it’s pretty impressive.

The mediocre success of the Playstation 3 itself has been down to various factors; price, coding and the late release in comparison to the Xbox and 360. Giving your competitor a head start is not a good idea which is now evidently clear as the Ps3 struggles to rake in enough sales to get even let alone make profit. A further reduction in price for the PS3 and great exclusives like Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet coupled with the free network play and the emergence of Home soon, will make the PS3 in the long term a much more viable investment than the 360.

Whilst we still haven’t seen the full potential of the PS3’s cell processor and capabilities, Killzone 2 goes a long way to show the potential and what can be achieved if enough effort and work is put into making games designed for the platform. This makes sense and is evidently clear when Sony says the PS3’s lifespan is expected to be for 10 years. Although it will not catch the sales or be anywhere near as successful as the Wii, it’s catering to a different market and it’s only real competitor is the 360 currently – which I expect in a year to catch up to with ease, IF the price is cut and it can secure great exclusive titles like Killzone 2 and Little Big Planet.
